Biography

James brings to our clients a tremendous amount of litigation experience having handled over fifty trials, taking more than half of them to successful jury awarded verdicts when he was at injury defense firms. He understands how the insurance companies and defense firms think allowing him to anticipate and counter their efforts. He changed career paths joining Siegel & Coonerty in 2022 to take his years of litigation experience to fight for the victims of negligence.

James is a highly effective trial attorney with a very strong work ethic - he prepares cases meticulously and can tell the story persuasively. James also has strong interpersonal skills working with clients to uncover all the salient facts needed to win the case. Originally from Ireland, James is a graduate of Nottingham Trent University (United Kingdom) with a Bachelor of Laws and has a Masters degree in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law from University College Dublin (Ireland). Admitted to the New York Bar in 2013 after he moved to the United States, James is the recipient of the Sheldon Hurwitz Young Lawyer Award which was presented by the New York Bar Association's Torts Insurance Compensation Law (TICL) section. James is an active member with the New York State Bar Association, and volunteers for the Brehon Law Society and the Irish American Bar Association of New York.

James is very family oriented and enjoys spending time with his wife and son. While he moved to the New York area in 2012, his Irish roots still take him to the golf course on weekends when every so often he manages to find time for a good round of golf. You can also find James attending events to raise money for St. Judes Children Hospital and other charities.
